One Lucky Mama

I mean really. Look at these two beautiful babies. Happy Mothers Day to me indeed.
(The picture below was taken at brunch on Mother's Day. Please notice that Jaxon was not "having" his picture taken. At all.)

Madagascar 3?

We bought a season pass to the Zoo, Botanic Gardens and Aquarium. So thats pretty much what my life will be consisting of. Today, Jaxon and I packed up a picnic and went to the zoo. It will go down in my history as one of the best days ever. We feasted on an assorment of berries & kiwi, crackers & cheese then topped it off by sharing an ice cream cone. We still saw plenty of animals not sleeping even though it was the middle of the day.
Jaxon is really perfecting his animals noises and expanding his range. Looking at the animals through his eyes brings me a whole new level of appreciation. Everytime we go he gets a big kick out of different animals. This time the favorites were the prarie dogs, seals, and the toucans. Enjoy the montage of photos and the video of Jaxon's latest impression.

Sharks in the desert

Pretty much my whole life, my dad has had a thing for sharks. When we were in a pool, he would be "Shark Dad" and swim under the water with a "fin" sticking out and attacking us kids. He would also re-enact the above skit pretty often. As an indirect result of this, and possibly seeing jaws at too young an age; I have an unhealthy fear of being eaten alive by a shark.

There I said it.

On a happier note, I took Jaxon to the aquarium and botanic gardens today. We had been once before, but Jax was too young to appreciate the true splendor. Well he got it all today. (even if he referred to some of the fish as dogs) He mostly spent the day saying OOOOHHHH! and pointing

We also saw our old friend. I've named him Gnarles Barkley because of his beautiful smile. He still chills me to the bones.

We then rounded out our afternoon by walking around the Botanic Garden. The weather was perfect and Jaxon had fun chasing the ducks, running around on the grass, and looking at all the flowers.
