Things Jaxon Says

Jaxon has taken to calling Bridget "Big Baby" as in this big baby from Toy Story 3. He says things like, "Mom theres a Big Baby after me help!!!" and "Oh no there is a Big Baby loose in the house, its going to ruin everything!!!" or "Mom you can be Jessi, Dad you can be Woody, I'll be Buzz and Bridget can be Big Baby." Part of me thinks its funny, but I'm trying to find a cuter, less terrifying baby for him to relate Bridget to.

Its literally too much to keep up with. He says hilarious things all day.

"Whats the problem here guys? I'm Jaxon the Fastest. If someone calls for help, I help."

Me-"Time for bed Jaxon."
Jaxon- (waving his hands up in front of me)
"Wait, wait, Mom! Lets make a deal!"

Quite the Snazzy Dresser

Jaxon marched in the office tonight to announce that he is ready. If you can't tell from the picture he put on his snowboots, bathing suit, a backpack and of course his hat. Ready for anything.

Mom I should sleep in your bed to protect you. From lions, and bears, and bats and coyotes and monsters.

Things Jaxon Says

"Hey mom, probably we should stop by the candy store and get some candy. Think that'd be great?"

Things Jaxon Says

I got Jaxon a new spaceship nightlight that he is quite fond of.
Last night as I was tucking him in and saying good night, he said to me,
"Mom you got me a new nightlight. (reaches out and touches my face) Thats was so sweet. Can I have a nightlight hug?"

Things Jaxon Says (he says a lot of things)

I was playing "Simon Says" with my all too quick witted 2 year old. When his turn came, he tried a couple of the usual commands, (hands on your ears etc.) He quickly realized the power this new game afforded him. He then ordered me with a twinkle in his eye "Simon says get me a cookie!."

Things Jaxon says:

Me: Jaxon do you know why the chicken crossed the road?

Jaxon: No mom.

Me: To get to the other side!! Get it?!?

Jaxon: (with tears welling up in his eyes) I'm gonna miss him!!

Oh summer where are you going?

"The only thing more fleeting than summer, is childhood" How true. We are trying to make the most of the moments while our kids are small by enjoying every moment between our busy lives. Jaxon and Bridget are so fun and both have such sweet personalities.

Bridget is so sweet and mellow. Always smiling and cooing. But she also has a little bit of a feisty side. If I have a snack or something that she wants, she lets me know she is insterested by letting out a fierce growl. It surprised me the first time. She is on the cusp of crawling, and I'm in no hurry for her to learn. Though she can often be found balancing on two knees and one hand, while reaching for an object. One handed push ups? Or maybe she is just doing sun salutations with her yoga routine. We will see what her interests are in the months to come.

Jaxon is as friendly as ever. He has no fear of strangers and often strikes up a conversation with people, I don't really want to talk to. His vocabulary is downright amazing. He uses proper tenses in sentances, and strangers in stores everywhere stop us to find out "How old is he?!? He speaks so well for being 2!" He is certainly has "little boy" tendancies and wants to fight all the time. He is still very interested in Pirates and often tells me to "Walk the Plank Mom!" or "Your going to Davey Jones locker, FOREVER!!" He also still collects hats and one of his favorite pass times is dress up.

We had a great time at the zoo with Emily, Katy, Alexis and Natalie!!

We took a bittersweet trip to Colorado Springs to celebrate the life of Vern Schuur. My adoptive father since 1st grade. I'm so glad we were able to spend time with Allison, Emily and Katy.
