Delightful, Delicious, De-Lovely!

Today was pretty much an amazing day. I never take Tuesdays off, so it was something new. The weather was wonderful, so Jax and I went for a long leisurely walk. Delightful!
First went to meet Jason for lunch at the miracle that is Dion's. Then to Ben and Jerry's for FREE CONE DAY!!! We met Crazy Uncle Jesse there and opted for a cone of "Whirled Peace."

(Jaxon did have a taste. Hey, I want my boy to appreciate the finer things in life which of course includes ice cream) Delicious! Last, we strolled to the park, laid out a blanket and took a nap under a tree. De-Lovely! We were pretty wiped out from our big adventure, but it was great!

Rice Cereal

So, we did it. We went for rice cereal today. Jaxon was really into it. He has pretty much been obsessed with watching us eat, and our pediatrician said that was a sign that the time had come. (drum roll please) To begin introducing solids! Am I a big sissy because it makes me a little sad? Am I going to cry when he goes to his first day of school? Most likely. Oh here it comes, my baby is becoming a man. Yikes.

Baby Photo Shoot

In celebration of his 4th month of life,
I took Jaxon to Kiddie Kandids in the mall. A little cheeseball, I know. No they did not have the option to put a screen of holographic playboy bunnies behind him. No he did not pose with his homies. No it was not in Walmart or Sears Portrait Studio.
Once I declined the offers to pose him with a top hat on, or sitting in a watering can, we were on the right track! Jaxon is a very mild tempered baby, but he was in an incredible mood when we went in for his photo shoot. You would think the woman was Jerry Seinfeld the way Jaxon cracked up at everything she did. He laughs now. A real little man laugh. And she knew all the sneaky baby laughing tricks. The result, I'm pretty happy with. These are the best...
Watch out Ladies.

Cookie Monster

In honor of spring, Jaxon and I did some serious Spring Cleaning today. Then to reward ourselves, we baked cookies. Jaxon perched on the kitchen counter in his chair, watched my every move with glee. At one point I couldn't resist but put a little icing on his lip and watching him lick it off curiously. After that, whenever I turned towards him while frosting the cookies, he would flail his arms and legs in the air while laughing madly. Trying to get my attention I assume, so he could get another taste of the delicious sugary goodness. And so it begins.

Big Baby Heads

Maybe I'm just biased, and don't see it. But I don't think Jaxon has a freakishly large baby head. I see other babies at the store and I have to look away to keep from staring. They have those giant Charlie Brown baby heads. his is a little big, but not in a creepy way. I hope it doesn't get like that...

Stop Dressing your 6 year old like a Skank

I came across this book as I was browsing the aisles of Barnes and Noble. I would like to buy many copies of this book and hand it out at random to mothers I see with their overdone pre- teen daughters. This is a problem here in New Mexico and if I were mayor we would have a social program to control this epidemic.
